Simple means to clean tiles

There are a variety of tiles in the market today. They range from regular tiles to marble, ceramic, linoleum, vitrified and so many more. The issue with all of them remains the same – cleaning. While there are many ways to clean the surface of the tiles, it is the grout space in between that often causes the problem.

If you have mildew or mold growing between your tiles, then you will need something alkaline based to stem the growth. Use some chlorine bleach or grease to get rid of the mildew. Chlorine works amazingly well on the mildew and also helps keep grout clean thanks to the oxidizing elements in it.

If you are dealing with hard water stains then you will need a full bodied vinegar which is almost equivalent to minor acid. This along with some elbow grease will help you get rid of the those unsightly white stains that smear tiles. Acid based cleaners work very well with such stains because they are primarily made of calcium and acid based cleaners work the best on it.

These are some of the simplest ways to get rid of stains and dirt on tiles. However, there are times when this too could fail. In such cases you will have to use some of the products that are available to get rid of particularly difficult stains. Kitchen floors can be kept clean with some everyday housekeeping. The same goes for ceramic based tiles.

There are certain things you need to keep in mind when cleaning tiles. Wash the tiles with water and make sure that no water remains. Always use a really mild detergent. Also stay away from ammonia- based cleaners as this could lead to discoloration. If you have any of the cleaning solutions spilling onto the ground, remember to cleaning it at once.
